Song Analysis Project

(due week 5)

Title/Year of song: Name Of Your Song!

Artist/band: Name Of Your Artist

band

1. What are the instruments?

2. Tempo: is it fast or slow or in between? Does it speed up or slow down?

3. Dynamics: is it loud or soft or in between? Does it change during the song or stay the same?

3. Rhythm: complex rhythms or simple? Does it change much or stay the same? Does it stop and start?

Writer/composer: ???
Producer/s: See if you can find out
Label: See if you can find out
Interesting things about the song.
Texture: lots of instruments together or only a few? Changes? Is it a thick or thin sound? A bumpy or a smooth sound?

Duration: are the sounds short and sharp or long? Or a combination?

Other interesting points about the music? How does it make you feel? Why? How have they arranged the different parts of the song to make it interesting? Is it very repetitive or does it add new elements regularly?

You must write about parts I have made BOLD, the other parts are optional extras (for extra marks of course). Remember, try closing your eyes. Enjoy it!
